Nov 20 English Comedy at RITCS Café: Jarred Christmas

We were honored by the massive amount of positive feedback after our last show. So this month we tried even harder to make a great line-up. Next shows headliner comes all the way from New Zealand and is “One of the funniest men to pick up a microphone” according to Time Out. Prepare for another wonderful night out!

Jarred Christmas (nz):
Full of passion and charisma Jarred takes the audience on a hilarious thrill ride of laughs and gasps with an edge of anger that manifests itself in his incredible rants against the small things in our lives. His confidence leaves the audience secure in the knowledge that they are in very capable hands. Give him a room above a pub with an audience of 30, or an audience of 3000 at Glastonbury Festival and he will shine. (As seen on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Mock the Week and Russell Howard’s Good News.)

“Impressive stuff… A comedic high five” – ***** Chortle

Jack Holmes (uk):
Embittered and armed with his quick wit and sharp tongue, Jack has developed a comedic style that’s guaranteed to entertain. Equal parts honest, vicious, and playful, his act mixes brutal self-deprecation with bewilderment and frustration at the world around him, creating a show every bit as heartwarming and endearing as it is gut wrenchingly hilarious.

Marie-Eglantine Petit
Our ‘fresh fish’ for this month usually roams the stand-up stages in the south of Belgium and can be heard on the RTBF radio station.

Oct 16 English Comedy at RITCS Café: Marcel Lucont

WE’RE BACK!
We hope you had a great summer.
We’ve planned a bunch of awesome line-up’s to get you through the winter. As usual Comedy Brussels starts the new season with a bang.

Marcel Lucont:
Flâneur, raconteur, bon-viveur, Marcel Lucont is easily the best French comedian on the UK circuit today. If you don’t believe this, just ask him yourself.
The two time winner of the Edinburgh fringe “Best Comedy Show” and the prestigious “Chortle comedy award” is also a regular on Comedy Central, BBC’s “The John Bishop show” and “RusselHoward’s Good News”.
Lucont is about to embark on a world tour headlining comedy festivals in Australia and New-Zealand. But before he does Marcel Lucont is playing London’s Soho Theatre and our club in Brussels…. Don’t miss out!

“A pitch-perfect performance… His sardonic turns of phrase are an utter joy” ★★★★★ Time Out

“Brilliantly brusque… The writing is impeccable… Hilarious” ★★★★ Chortle

Manuel Wolff:
Who said Germans aren’t funny? We at least know of one funny German and luck has it he is coming to Brussels. Manuel hosts the “Boing” comedy nights and is known for his dry observational humour, occasional outbursts of anger and surprising improvisational skills.
He is also a regular performer on German tv (but who watches that).

Nicholas Rabogliatti
Our first opening spot of the new season goes to Nikolas… just because he deserves it and because we know you like some fresh meat!

May 15 English Comedy at RITCS Café: Scott Capurro / Rahul Kohli

Our last show this season and it’s going to be awesome:
We have saved the best for last!
On may 15 we are very happy to present some awesome comedians in Brussels best comedy club. Our headliner is as controversial as he is funny, a Perrier Award winning comedian who doesn’t hold back. We are big fans! But Because we are going o ut in style we’ve also added one of the fastest rising acts on the British comedy circuit to our line-up
Send us an e-mail or go to our website www.comedybrussels.com to get tickets for this amazing comedy night.

Line-up:
Scott Capurro:
Camp and outrageous, provocative and controversial, catty and hysterical, Scott Capurro is a breath of fresh air in the increasingly samey and stale world of stand-up. Not for the faint-hearted, Scott’s un-comprising take on his gay lifestyle and white trash background make him as challenging as he is funny. A Perrier Award Winner comedian and actor who played a part in one of our most and one of our least favourite movies of all time: “Ms Doubtfire” and “Star Wars: The phantom menace”

“The most fearless and technically perfect stand up on the circuit.” – The Guardian

Rahul Kohli:
Rahul Kohli is one of the fastest rising acts on the British comedy circuit. A young Asian man from the North of England combining fierce political satire with surreal storytelling, in just a few short years, his debut solo show Newcastle Brown Male gained critical acclaim at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival earning him a top pick of both BBC Radio 4 and the Huffington Post. Political and gut bustingly funny: that’s Rahul!

‘Rising Star of political comedy’ – Andy Zaltsman, The Bugle

A highly original and quirky performer, Roger Monkhouse`s trademark stage-prowling style and curious, inimitable manner have established him as one of the hottest names on the comedy circuit. Supremely confident, with audience banter down to an art form, Roger is happy to improvise freely but has no shortage of first class material in his armoury. A master of observational comedy with a routine that is universally and unfailingly hysterical. Monkhouse is also a part of the Comedy Store cutting edge team which is basically a synonym for funny!

“Unfailingly entertaining and skilfully able to pull punch lines, seemingly, out of thin air” Chortle *****

He’s well known among our Belgian comedy lovers as he seems to be everywhere on Belgian Tv. What not a lot of people know, is that he was crowned the world champion of improv in Berlin and has been working on an ‘English special’.

English Comedy at RITCS Café: PIPPA EVANS

We are back!

We hope you’ve missed us because we are extremely proud to present you another awesome line-up.
February’s show is somewhat unique because it’s not every month we have a world class Oliver theater and Chortle award winner on our stage. Get your tickets if you want to join us on tuesday February 20 for a fun night out and some of the best beers Belgium has to offer.

Line-up:

Pippa Evans (uk):
Evans is an award-winning comedian, actress, songwriter and improviser.

A multi-talented and incredibly versatile performer, Pippa has taken 6 shows to the Edinburgh Fringe, bagging a nomination for Best Newcomer in 2008 for her debut show. Since then she has gone from strength to strength, performing regularly on BBC Radio 4 as well as on hit TV shows such as Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled and Comedy Central’s Drunk History. Pippa sold out shows on the Melbourne comedy festival and the prestigious Just For Laughs in Montreal. She brings some of the best and sharpest musical comedy we’ve ever seen!

Broadway Baby ⋆⋆⋆⋆ , Telegraph: “A comic genious” ⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆ , The Scotsman ⋆⋆⋆⋆ , Chortle “If the show doesn’t provide the joy, it’s probably on you!”⋆⋆⋆⋆ / Chortle award / Olivier award / 2 x Amused Moose nominee

Thomas Smith (uk/be):
Smith is one of belgium’s most inventive comedians. He has a fast paced comedy style and most of it is improvised on the spot, think Ross Noble with a way better wardrobe. He had several sold-out theater tours and 2018 marks his first official year as a Belgian. He turned in his British passport and Brexited before it became all the hype!

Brian K. Jordan (us):
Jordan has developed his own style of storytelling comedy. They say that part truth is involved in most comedians’ stories, and Brian is no different. IF you figure out which parts of his stories are true, they could shock you.

As usual you can book tickets by mailing us: standuprits@gmail.com or through our website www.comedybrussels.com  Pre-sale: 12 €, at the door 15€, students 5€ RITCS café – Dansaertstraat 70 – Tuesday Februari 20- Start 20h
